HISTORY OF LANGUAGE RECORDINGS.
Joy thought that if only she could have left behind some recorded messages in their native Spanish language, how wonderful a legacy. In this way the existing converts could be built up in their faith and many others reached ... after all, "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Thanks to several friends’ generosity, Joy was able to see the beginning of this coming to fruition as she recorded on gramaphone the first Gospel record in Spanish on the last day of 1938. Soon a flood of enquiries came in for the Spanish records from other Spanish speaking countries in South America . Later requests came in from around the world and Joy travelled with a small team to reach out to those millions waiting to hear in their own language, and to fulfil the wider commission of taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth. From those early beginnings the work has increased and new centres were started in various countries with Joy pressing on with this wonderful and unique vision The Lord had given her. Her faith through her whole life of rejoicing for every circumstance encouraged and impressed everyone she met. In the UK in 1955 Eric Hogg a young technician with Missionary Technical Fellowship caught the vision of Global Recordings. He invited Joy to England and arranged meetings and a press conference in London . It was during this time the UK headquarters was established. From records to cassettes and CDs the work has developed to almost 40 centres and bases around the world under the name of Global Recordings Network. Each seeking to reach the lost by these recordings and their audio visual presentations. Partnering with other missionary organisations and using their expertise, we want to reach those who are waiting to hear in a language they can understand….their own.
